Job Opportunity: Learning Support Assistant

We are supporting a fantastic school seeking a dedicated, passionate, and empathetic learning support assistant to join their close-knit team. The school caters to learners facing barriers such as SEMH, autism, ADHD, and Asperger's.

About the Role:

1. Support the classroom teacher in managing the class and engaging students in learning.
2. Assist across other sites and outreach centers as needed.
3. Prepare the classroom for lessons.
4. Supervise group activities or work with students on a 1:1 basis depending on needs.
5. Provide a healthy and safe learning environment.
6. Build meaningful relationships to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.

Requirements:

1. Experience working with children with special educational needs.
2. Strong knowledge of strategies to support students' studies and wellbeing.
3. Understanding of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and Asperger's.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle (minimum 2 years driving experience).
