Job summary

Castle Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant for a primary school in the Knaresborough area. The role involves providing 1:1 support to a child with additional needs, helping access learning opportunities and building confidence within a supportive school setting.

You will work with teaching staff to monitor progress, support learning activities, and promote independence and emotional wellbeing. The post is temporary with flexible hours and competitive PAYE pay.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or care setting.
• Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with pupils.
• Passion for inclusive education and pupil development.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs.

Castle Education is working with a welcoming primary school in the Knaresborough area, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis.

This rewarding role will involve providing individual support to a child with additional needs, helping them access learning opportunities, build confidence and develop essential skills within a supportive school environment.

You’ll work closely with teaching staff to ensure the child receives appropriate support, encouraging their progress, independence and emotional wellbeing.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs.
• Support learning activities adapted to the child’s individual needs and abilities.
• Encourage confidence, independence and personal development.
• Help implement behaviour support strategies where required.
• Work closely with teachers and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress updates.
