St John's Primary and Nursery School is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant Level 2 to join their inclusive team. Contract Type: 32.50 Hours
Hours of Work: 8.30am until 3.30pm, term time only, plus inset days
Contract Term: Fixed Term Contract
Contract Length: 01st September 2025 – 31st August 2026
Salary Range: Scale F

About the role
St John's Primary School and Nursery is a nurturing, inclusive and successful primary school and nursery in the heart of Kenilworth. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, outstanding and dedicated level 2 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our forward thinking and dynamic team. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting children with special educational needs and will be working on a one to one basis to provide support within the classroom and work alongside our team of SEN Learning Support Assistants.
The successful candidate will:
Hold a recognised level 2 qualification
Have experience of working with and supporting children who have special educational needs
To work under the guidance of the SENCO/senior staff to provide support for social, emotional and mental health needs of an individual within a classroom setting
To support pupils social and emotional development and promote independence in a safe, secure environment
To be able to show initiative and independence in organising your duties
Good communication and listening skills and be able to present information to others
An excellent understanding of how children learn best in a happy and secure setting
The ability to form excellent relationships with parents, carers, staff and stakeholders
Knowledge and understanding of what makes an outstanding learning environment
Have a passion for excellence and share our vision
Are highly motivated and enthusiastic
Have a positive attitude and desire to help children succeed
Able to contribute to and work collaboratively as part of a team
To be able to demonstrate a full understanding of safeguarding issues within a school setting
