Job description

ABC Teachers are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Bromsgrove on a full-time basis.

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work as part of a committed staff team.
  • You will support children in small classes, helping them to engage, progress, and thrive in a setting that values wellbeing, communication, and independence as much as academic success.
  • This role may involve working 1:1 or with small groups, particularly with pupils who have emotional regulation difficulties, communication needs, or developmental delays
  • Working with a range of additional needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties(MLD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and Autism ensuring they feel safe, included, and able to access a personalised curriculum.

About the School:

  • A Specialist school based in Bromsgrove for children and young people aged from Reception to post 16 with moderate to complex needs with the aim of providing high quality education.
  • Children have a range of diagnoses and special needs, including moderate learning difficulties, and/ or Social Emotional Mental Health issues.
  • Providing a safe, positive, stimulating and challenging learning environment where all pupils needs are identified.
  • Access a wide range of funded training and qualification opportunities in SEN education whilst gaining a breadth of experience.

About you:-

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a special school, SEN, or nurture-based setting.
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to build strong relationships with pupils who may find learning challenging.
  • Understands the importance of emotional support, structure, and consistency in a child s daily routine.
  • Has a willingness to learn and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
