Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant in Gateshead to support pupils who require additional help to access learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

In this long-term, full-time role you will work with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions, provide 1:1 and small group support, and help maintain a calm, nurturing classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Ability to deliver tailored interventions and support plans.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom to access the curriculum and develop social and emotional skills.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with students, helping to boost confidence, self-esteem and emotional regulation.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support as required.
• Promote a calm and nurturing environment, using de-escalation and behaviour management strategies effectively.
