Job summary

Riverbank Academy in Coventry is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the team. You will support teaching staff to develop learners’ academic and personal needs, providing in-class assistance and helping with the tutorial program as a co-tutor.

The role requires at least 2 GCSEs including English and Maths, with A levels desirable. You’ll work with students aged 11–19, including those with complex SEND, in a supportive school setting.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent at C (4/5) grade or above, including English and Maths.
• Qualification to A level (AS/level) standard is desirable.
• Ability to support students aged 11–19 in moving and handling and personal care.
• Experience working with groups of young people with complex SEND, preferably of secondary age.
• Experience of leading lessons within a community, mainstream or special school context.
• Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured support and guidance in the development of students' academic and individual needs.
• Provide in-class support to teachers and delivery practitioners.
• Assist with the tutorial program as a co-tutor.
