Job summary

Riverbank Academy in Coventry is seeking a Family Engagement and Learning Support Assistant to support teaching staff and enhance learners' development. You will perform scheduled home visits to build positive relationships with families, identify support needs, and provide structured guidance to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

Qualifications

• Desire to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
• Qualification to A level (AS/level) standard desirable.
• Knowledge of needs and characteristics of young people with complex SEND.
• Experience leading lessons within a community, mainstream or special school context.
• Ability to support students aged 11–19 in moving and handling and personal care.
• Total communication techniques to reach all students.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled home visits to build positive relationships with families and identify support needs.
• Provide structured support and guidance in developing learners' academic and individual needs.
• Provide in-class support to teachers and delivery practitioners.
• Assist with lunchtime supervision.
• Assist with after-school and break duties as part of the rota.

Riverbank Academy currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Family Engagement and Learning Support Assistant to join the team, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job requirements
