Job summary

Riverbank Academy in Coventry is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team, providing structured support to teachers and delivery practitioners and assisting with our tutorial program as a co-tutor. You will support students aged 11–19 with complex SEND, help develop their academic and personal needs, and contribute to a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Interviews will take place upon application.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 GCSEs (C/4-5) including English and Maths.
• A-levels or AS-level desirable.
• Experience with groups of young people with complex SEND.
• Ability to support 11–19 year-olds in moving and handling and personal care.

Riverbank Academy currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the team, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job overview

You’ll be responsible for providing structured support and guidance in the development of our students' academic and individual needs, providing in-class support to our teachers and delivery practitioners, also assisting with the tutorial program as a co-tutor.

Job requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent at C (4/5) grade or above, including English and Maths

Qualification to A level (AS/level) standard. desirableAbility to support students aged from 11-19 in moving and handling and personal care

Experience working with groups of young people with complex SEND, preferably of secondary age

Experience of leading lessons within a community, mainstream or special school context

Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
