Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant in Ongar to support pupils with a range of needs across primary and secondary classes. The role is full-time and long-term with an ASAP start.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help with communication and routines, and work with teachers and specialists to implement EHCP targets. A DBS on Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable across primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Help maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and social development.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Ongar that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes

  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and strong mainstream TAs looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply.
