Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Contract Type: Full-time/ long term

Salary scale: £85-£130 per day

A welcoming school in the Chelmsford area are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN learning support assistant to join the hardworking team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on a student's education and well-being by offering personalized support in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-to-one and group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in both classroom and extracurricular settings.
2. Inspire the students to reach their full potential.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans to meet the individual needs of students.
4. Support students with a variety of tasks including, reading, writing, and social skills development.
5. Work as a team with class teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
6. Monitor student progress and report on individual achievements.
7. Provide emotional and behavioural support to ensure a positive and safe learning experience.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

1. Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a learning support role.
2. A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and helping them succeed.
3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
5. Relevant experience working with children that have special educational needs.
6. GCSE's grade C (pass) or above.
