Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our SEN primary team. You will work closely with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder across KS1, including non-verbal pupils who may display challenging behaviours.

This rewarding role supports learning access, personal care where needed, and collaboration with teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised plans. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment and use strategies to promote independence

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN, ASD, or PMLD.
• Understanding of autism strategies and communication aids.
• Patient, empathetic, proactive attitude.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Commitment to safeguarding children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for ASD/PMLD pupils.
• Deliver and adapt individual learning plans.
• Support personal care needs when required.
• Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage independence, communication, and engagement.
