Role: SEN Intervention Teacher
Location: Surrey
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am 2:00pm (Flexible)
Salary: £145 to £230 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term and ongoing
Age Group: years (class sizes 8 10 pupils with TA support)
Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Intervention Teacher to deliver targeted support in Maths and English at Functional Skills level to secondary-aged pupils in Surrey.
This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist provision that supports young people with a range of needs including SEMH, ADHD, and ASC, who require tailored learning outside of mainstream education. You ll be playing a key leadership role in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver functional Maths and English lessons that are accessible and engaging.
Provide 1:1 and small group intervention for students with SEN and SEMH needs.
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to support individual learning needs.
Create a safe and supportive environment to foster student confidence and academic development.
Adapt lessons to suit varying needs, using innovative teaching strategies.
Maintain consistent communication with pastoral staff and SENCO regarding progress.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
Proven experience working in an SEN or SEMH setting is highly desirable.
Ability to teach Functional Skills English and Maths.
Strong knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies.
Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
Thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
