Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a SEN primary school in West Drayton, Greater London. You will support lesson delivery and provide targeted assistance to students with additional learning needs.

The role requires leading small group activities, covering lessons when needed, and contributing to IEPs while maintaining safeguarding and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN setting.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Confident in leading small group activities and covering lessons when needed.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and classroom management skills.
• Passionate about supporting students with additional needs and helping them reach their potential.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of lessons across the curriculum with the class teacher.
• Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
• Cover lessons in the teacher's absence to ensure continuity in learning.
• Assist with developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes independence.
• Support students with communication, sensory and behavioral challenges using tailored strategies.
