Higher Level Teaching Assistant

  • Daily pay starting at £120

Do you have a passion for education? Are you an experienced higher level teaching assistant or a graduate looking for your next role within a specialist school?

Long Term Teachers are working with a fantastic academy based in Taunton, who are looking for an enthusiastic HLTA to join their dedicated team. The role commences in January 2024 and is a full-time, term-time position, working Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Your main duties will include:

  • Managing the classroom
  • Running activities
  • Leading 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Supporting students of all abilities, including those with SEN
  • Report writing and liaising with SLT on students' progress

About you:

  • Experience working with children, particularly Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong organizational skills to assist with lesson planning and classroom management
