Job summary

Polaris Community in Wirral seeks a Head Teacher to lead an inclusive school for pupils aged 5–18 with diverse complex needs. You will set a compassionate vision, uphold safeguarding, and develop a personalised learning approach.

The role requires QTS with primary/secondary experience, NPQH (not essential), strong SEN leadership, and excellent communication. You will build a new team, collaborate with families and external partners, and maintain high standards under Ofsted.

Qualifications

• QTS with primary or secondary teaching experience.
• Experience working with SEN students.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive an inclusive educational vision aligned with Polaris values.
• Lead safeguarding as Designated Safeguarding Lead and implement policies.
• Adapt curriculum to meet SEN needs and EHCP outcomes.
• Mentor staff and promote professional growth across the school team.
• Engage parents and external partners to build a supportive network.
• Lead development of a new school team in Wirral and foster a collaborative culture.
