Job summary

The Graduate Network in Smethwick is seeking a Psychology graduate to join as a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with autism, ADHD and EBD, helping them access lessons and engage with learning.

Immediate start until July 2027, with DBS checks and a focus on emotional regulation and behaviour strategies. This role offers valuable experience for careers in educational psychology and SEN support.

Qualifications

• Degree - a 2:2 or above in Psychology or related field.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Enhanced DBS with children's barred list check.
• SEN knowledge - autism, ADHD and EBD.
• Patience, resilience and calm confidence managing challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Implement positive behaviour strategies.
• Help children develop concentration and task completion.
• Support autism strategies using visuals and clear instructions.
• Deliver activities to develop emotional and social skills.
• Work with teachers and SENCO to monitor pupil progress.
