Job summary

St Mary’s CofE Primary School in Byfleet, Surrey, is seeking a Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Assistant to support classroom learning. The post offers 20 or 30 hours per week during term time (38.6 weeks).

The stated pay is £16,995 pro rata for a 5-day position, or £24,330 for a full-time equivalent. You will aid in delivering educational work programmes, support pupils with EHCP/IEP needs, work with small groups, organize the learning environment, and ensure policies are followed.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Understanding of children’s development and needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering educational work programmes by participating in day-to-day learning activities.
• Assist in delivering individual work programmes for pupils with an EHCP and SEN pupils with IEPs.
• Work with small groups of pupils as required.
• Organise and maintain the learning environment.
• Understand and apply school policies.
