Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting for a teaching assistant to work with SEN pupils at a school in West Wickham, south London. The role supports non-verbal students and those with complex medical needs on an ad hoc, schedule-based basis.

The successful candidate will have GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent), and hold or be working towards a recognised TA qualification. DBS checks (Update Service) or a current DBS are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or L1/2 equivalent).
• Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
• Experience working with non-verbal students and understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and other complex medical conditions.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service - or already have one.
• Previous experience of performing personal care for ages 5-19.

Requirements:

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification
• Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
• Experience working with non-verbal students and an understanding of the condition as well as Autistic Spectrum Disorder as well as other complex medical conditions.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service - or already have one
• Previous experience of performing personal care for ages 5-19.
