Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident and compassionate SEN Cover Supervisor to join a special needs school in Reading. This role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity while supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.

You will manage classes, deliver lesson plans, and support students with SEN such as autism and dyslexia in a nurturing environment. The position offers ongoing training and professional development, a competitive salary, and wellness support.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the teacher.
• Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
• Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN.

Skills

GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4/C or above)

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH)

Strong behaviour management and classroom supervision skills

Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable

Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or Cover Supervisor training)
