Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN College Learning Support Tutor for our Haslingden campus in Lancashire, England. The role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis, with responsibilities across classroom and individual support to learners with SEN.

We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN College Learning Support Tutor to join a specialist educational setting in Haslingden. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them achieve their full potential in a college environment.

The role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis, providing the opportunity to secure a long-term position within a supportive and rewarding setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide learning support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist learners both in the classroom and through one-to-one support sessions.
  • Support the delivery of engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and personal development among students.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and support teams to meet individual learner needs.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to learner reviews and support plans.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEN, SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues.
  • A relevant qualification in education, support work, health and social care, or a related field is desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
