Job summary

Academics in Wirral is seeking committed SEN Classroom Support staff to work across a range of schools. You will help pupils feel confident and supported, assisting with activities and encouraging development in both education and SEN settings.

Ideal candidates have experience working with children or young people, an understanding of autism and ADHD, and a patient, calm approach. This role offers valuable classroom exposure and the chance to develop professional skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in school, care, youth work, or similar setting.
• SEN Classroom Support experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of Autism and ADHD helpful.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach.

What we're looking for

SEN Classroom Support will ideally have:

• Experience working with children or young people, whether in a school, care, youth work, support or similar setting.
• Prior experience as SEN Classroom Support staff would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Some knowledge or experience of Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
• A patient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a supportive team.
• A genuine desire to help young people overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
