Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support autistic children in small-group and 1:1 settings, developing academic, social and emotional skills. Salary: £23,000 Pro-rata salary based on 36.75 hours per week, 39.2 weeks per year Plus a £1000 joining bonus (£26811 FTE)

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with children in small-group and one-to-one settings, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with their learning and development

  • Helping develop communication, social and life skills

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence

  • Supporting children during breaks, routines and transitions

  • Assisting with educational trips and activities

  • Working closely with experienced professionals and specialist teams

  • Taking part in ongoing training, supervision and professional development
