Job summary

Polaris Education in Northwich is seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons for pupils with SEMH in a supportive environment.

The role is full-time, term-time only, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £28,000–£39,520 depending on experience. A DBS check is required and benefits include a company pension and life assurance.

Qualifications

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
• Strong basic education to degree level.
• Experience with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
• Commitment to DBS check prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality lessons within the national curriculum for pupils with SEMH.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with school staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to drive learning outcomes.

Located in Northwich, Northwich School offers a capacity of up to 100 pupils and safe and supportive environments for pupils from 5 to 16 years old with a range of complex needs. Role responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Have a strong basic education to degree level
• Previous successful teaching experience
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, cost of which will be met by Polaris Education.
