Job summary

Polaris Education is seeking a SEN Class Teacher for Dunsley Hall School in Kinver, Stourbridge. This full-time, term-time role delivers high-quality lessons to pupils aged 5–18 with complex SEMH needs within the national curriculum. Applicants must hold QTS with a degree, have classroom teaching experience, and be prepared to undertake an enhanced DBS check. DBS cost covered by Polaris Education.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good degree.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEMH is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support the class team to promote positive behaviours and learning opportunities.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress and liaise with staff to meet individual needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and school trips.
• Build positive relationships to drive engagement and learning outcomes.

Contract: Full Time, Term time only

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Have a strong basic education to degree level
• Previous successful teaching experience
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
