Job summary

Polaris Education - Redstone Hall School, Ipswich is seeking a SEN Class Teacher to plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum, meeting the complex SEMH needs of pupils aged 5 to 18. The role is based in Ipswich with 37.5 hours per week.

You will hold Qualified Teacher Status, a degree, and relevant teaching experience with SEMH. The school offers professional development opportunities and an inclusive team dedicated to pupil wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Educated to degree level.
• Previous successful teaching experience.
• Previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
• Experience of behaviour-management strategies and techniques.
• A commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviour.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during times outside lessons, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage engagement and positive learning outcomes.
