Job summary

Polaris Education in Banbury is seeking a SEN Class Teacher for Banbury School to plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum while addressing the complex SEMH needs of pupils. The post requires QTS and a degree-level education, with proven teaching experience and a DBS clearance.

You will support the class team, report on pupil progress, supervise activities, and foster positive relationships to promote learning, wellbeing, and inclusive practice across the school

Qualifications

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
• Have a strong basic education to degree level.
• Previous successful teaching experience.
• Some experience working with SEMH within an educational setting.
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn.
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing work.
• Essential to drive and have own transport.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering high quality lessons within the national curriculum to meet complex SEMH needs.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to ensure needs are met.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including after-school activities and trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and drive interactive, positive learning outcomes.

Basic Salary: 28,000 - 39,520

Contract: Full Time, Term time only

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Have a strong basic education to degree level
• Previous successful teaching experience
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
• It is essential that you drive and have your own transport.
