Civic Recruitment Limited in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a SEN Casework Officer to manage EHC Needs Assessments and Annual Reviews for children with complex needs. This is a 1 month contract with a local authority and a hybrid role requiring 37 hours weekly.

You will draft EHC Plans, attend planning meetings, monitor progress, present cases to panels, and negotiate educational provision with schools and agencies, while building strong multi‑agency relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification or equivalent, alongside GCSEs (English and Maths) and A Level/Level 3 qualification.
• Strong working knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, SEND Regulations, and the Children and Families Act (including statutory timeframes).
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsabilités

• Manage the statutory processes for EHC Needs Assessments and Plans for a caseload.
• Draft EHC Plans, attend planning meetings, and monitor progress through Annual Reviews.
• Prepare and present cases to panels, provide feedback, and implement outcomes.
• Negotiate educational provision with schools, settings, and other agencies, while monitoring contract compliance.
• Identify issues, negotiate, and resolve problems from complex casework and inter‑agency work.
• Develop effective working relationships with parents/carers, schools, local authorities, and multi‑agency professionals.
• Contribute to SEND response planning and deliver stakeholder training.
