Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a SEN secondary school in Islington. You will work 1:1 or in small groups to support learning and emotional regulation, while helping students engage with learning in a calm, structured environment.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships and working with teachers, therapists, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in SEN/SEMH or related settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with their learning and emotional regulation
• Providing calm, consistent support during challenging moments and helping students re-engage with learning
• Building positive relationships that encourage trust, confidence, and independence
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
• Encouraging positive behaviour through patience, structure, and clear expectations
• Recognising and celebrating every achievement, no matter how small
