Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a resilient, patient and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist Islington setting. The role focuses on helping students engage, regulate emotions, and participate in learning, under the guidance of teaching staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience with challenging behaviour, be calm and empathetic, and use effective de-escalation strategies to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs.
• Calm, patient, resilient and empathetic nature.
• Confident in using behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
• Support emotional regulation, engagement and participation in learning.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff.
