Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting an SEN Behaviour Support Worker at an SEN school in Grays, starting September. You will support pupils with SEND, help with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement, and work alongside teachers and pastoral staff in and out of class.

You should be calm, patient, with strong communication, and a passion for helping young people develop confidence and independence. Training and safeguarding checks apply, with DBS and online safeguarding provided.

Qualifications

SEN Behaviour Support Worker – SEN School – Grays | September Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive?


We are working with a welcoming SEN school in Grays that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Behaviour Support Worker to join their team from September.


The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play an important role in supporting pupils with their behaviour, emotional regulation, communication and engagement, helping them to manage challenges and access their education successfully.


Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will provide consistent support both in and outside of the classroom, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop greater independence.


The ideal candidate will:


  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEND, behavioural or emotional needs

  • Be calm, patient and confident when managing challenging situations

  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships

  • Be consistent and confident in maintaining appropriate boundaries

  • Be proactive and able to adapt their approach to meet individual needs

  • Be passionate about helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
