Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a SEN specialist provision in Hertfordshire. The role supports students aged 11–16, guiding social, emotional and academic development to re-integrate into mainstream education or build life skills.

Key responsibilities include 1:1 or small group support, collaboration on ISPs, and mentoring using de-escalation strategies. DBS checks and valid UK working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young adults with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
• Team Teach training is desirable and encouraged to apply.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1:1 or in small groups to boost engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Assist staff in designing inclusive activities and Individual Support Plans.
• Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies to manage behaviours.
• Monitor progress and record milestones, celebrating small wins.
• Liaise with school, parents and external agencies to support welfare.
