Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils aged 4-11 with SEMH needs in a SEN school near Billingshurst. You will work with small groups or one-to-one, focusing on emotional regulation and re-engaging students in learning.

The role requires a Level 2/3 teaching assistant or Early Years qualification, a valid license and car for rural travel, and resiliency in a dynamic school environment. Immediate start offered.

Qualifications

• DESIRED: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or Level 2/3 Early Years Educator.
• REQUIRED: License and own vehicle due to rural location.
• Experience with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour is preferable.
• Strong behaviour management to de-escalate threats or aggression.
• Ability to mentor pupils and deliver tailored educational packages.
• Resilient, empathetic, patient and team‑oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs in small classes or 1:1.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and access learning.
• Collaborate with outside agencies to re-engage students.
• Deliver designed educational packages and monitor progress.
