Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work full-time at an SEN school in Bury St Edmunds. You will support students in managing behaviour and developing positive relationships.

You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment, providing one-to-one and small group mentoring to promote social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, autism, or ADHD.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach with strong relationship-building skills.
• Strong communication and behaviour management abilities.
• Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, TA, Youth Worker, or similar role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support students in managing their behaviour, developing positive relationships, and overcoming barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and support colleagues to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and promote positive behavioural outcomes.
• Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Support the implementation of behaviour strategies and help students develop self-regulation skills.
