Job summary

Engage Education in Manchester is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to join an SEN school. The role supports pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, autism and additional needs, aiding their engagement with learning.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring, build trusted relationships, and collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour plans and assist with emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN/SEMH, behaviour support, youth work or mentoring is desirable.
• Teaching qualifications are not essential; right attitude and experience matter.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils with SEMH and emotional needs.
• Help pupils manage emotions and self-regulation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to implement plans.
