Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a SEN / ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the NP10 area of Newport in both full-time and part-time roles.

You will provide compassionate, proactive support for learners with a range of needs, including 1:1 support when required, in a positive and inclusive classroom setting.

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a SEN / ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the NP10 area of Newport.

We are seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with pupils who have a wide range of needs and confident providing 1:1 support when required.

About the Role

As a SEN / ALN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

You may be required to support children with:

• ADHD
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
• Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
• Other Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

The role may involve working on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or supporting pupils within the wider classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Registration & Compliance Requirements

To work through Teaching Personnel, all successful applicants must complete our registration and safeguarding process, including:

Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a DBS through Teaching Personnel.

Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Provision of professional references covering the last two years.

Completion of all required vetting and safeguarding checks before being cleared for work.
