Autograph Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a Semi-Senior Accounts Technician to join a growing accountancy practice. Initially Torbay-based, the role offers hybrid working or Exeter office thereafter, and focuses on accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT within a supportive team.

The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio, build client relationships and work directly with clients, with payroll exposure that is beneficial but not the main focus.

Qualifications

• Previous accountancy practice experience at Accounts Assistant, Semi-Senior or similar level.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience.
• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Good knowledge of accounting software.
• The confidence to manage your own workload and client deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Semi-Senior Accounts Technician

Location: Torbay initially | Hybrid / Exeter thereafter if preferred
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time – Minimum 30 hours per week
Salary: Up to £33,000 FTE, depending on experience

A growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Semi-Senior Accounts Technician to join its friendly and supportive team.

The role will initially Torbay-based for the first six months, after which there will be the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis or from the Exeter office if preferred.

This is a varied practice role, working closely with a portfolio of clients across accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT, with the opportunity to take ownership of your workload and build strong client relationships.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing a range of accounts and bookkeeping services to a varied portfolio of clients, including preparing year-end and management accounts, VAT returns and supporting with wider practice work.

The role would suit someone with previous accountancy practice experience who is confident working independently, managing their own portfolio and dealing directly with clients.
