Job summary

Zohorecruit is assisting a well‑established accountancy practice in Bexhill to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant. You will handle statutory accounts, tax returns and bookkeeping for a mixed client base, while developing your technical expertise in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders and Ltd companies.
• Strong MS Office and Excel skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Able to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and detail.

Responsibilities

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Semi Senior Accountant to join a well established and growing accountancy practice in Bexhill.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious practice professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll work with a varied portfolio of sole traders and limited companies, gaining exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client management while continuing to build your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Tax

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
• Prepare personal and business tax returns.
• Complete bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for a varied client portfolio.
• Assist with financial reporting and management accounts where required.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Client Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Respond to client queries and provide professional day to day support.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.

Practice Support

• Assist with the day to day administration of client work and appointments.
• Support invoicing, expense tracking and general financial administration.
• Collect, organise and analyse financial information for reporting purposes.
• Work closely with colleagues and external providers to ensure the efficient delivery of client services.

Requirements

• AAT qualified, ACA or ACCA part qualified, or qualified by experience.
• A minimum of three years' recent experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders and limited companies.
• Good working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks.
• Experience using IRIS would be advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Professional approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
