Job summary

Castle Employment Group in Gainsborough is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice. The role covers varied responsibilities across accounts, tax, bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts, ideal for someone with AAT or several years in practice.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or several years in practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
• Prepare business tax computations and schedules.
• Complete bookkeeping and VAT returns.
• Assist with management accounts.
• Support clients with accounting software and advise solutions.
• Assist with audit assignments when required.
• Work with managers across a varied client portfolio.
• Handle year-end queries and ad-hoc requests.

An established accountancy practice in Gainsborough is looking to add an experienced Semi Senior Accountant to its growing team.

This is a varied general practice role, offering exposure across accounts, tax, bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts. It would suit an AAT qualified or someone with a few years practice experience who is looking for a role where they can continue developing their technical knowledge, client skills and overall accountancy career.

• Preparing business tax computations and supporting schedules
• Completing bookkeeping and VAT returns

• Dealing with year-end queries and ad-hoc client requirements

Requirements of the Semi Senior Accountant job include:

• At least a few years UK accountancy practice experience
• Experience using Sage and/or cloud accounting software such as Xero
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
