Job summary

Coats Recruitment Limited in Droitwich is seeking an experienced Semi-Senior Accountant to manage a varied portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing a range of accounting and tax work. • Minimum AAT Level 3 or equivalent.
• At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts for Sole Traders and Limited Companies.
• Good understanding of bookkeeping, VAT and general taxation.
• Experience preparing and reviewing accounts.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to deal directly with clients.
• A professional and reliable approach.
• Experience using Xero.
• Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior members of a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for Sole Traders and Limited Companies.
• Reviewing and preparing accounts and accounting records.
• Preparing working papers and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
• Assisting with Self Assessment and Corporation Tax Returns.
• Preparing monthly and annual financial information.
• Reviewing client bookkeeping and making necessary adjustments.
• Posting and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Preparing financial information for clients.
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to accounting and tax queries.
• Supporting clients with accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Working closely with senior management to ensure deadlines are met.
• Supporting and reviewing the work of more junior members of the team where appropriate.
• Taking on increased responsibility as your knowledge and experience develops.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am–5:30pm-Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

Coats Recruitment are working with a specialist accountancy practice based in Droitwich who are looking to appoint an experienced Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

The practice provides a wide range of accounting and tax services to a varied portfolio of clients, offering a professional and supportive working environment with opportunities for development and progression.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients and be responsible for preparing and reviewing a range of accounting and tax work.

Key responsibilities will include:

About You
