Job summary

An established accountancy practice in Bournemouth, Dorset is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their friendly team. The role will involve preparing year-end accounts, corporation tax and personal tax across a varied client portfolio.

We welcome candidates who are AAT qualified or part-qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified or QBE. Strong double-entry bookkeeping and client-facing skills are essential, with ongoing training and development on offer.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in accountancy practice.
• Familiarity with UK accounting standards (FRS 102/105).
• Strong numerical and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600 returns.
• Assist with personal tax returns where required.
• Complete bookkeeping and VAT work.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Support senior staff on larger assignments.

We are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Bournemouth, Dorset, who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior to join their friendly and professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Semi-Senior, Part-Qualified Accountant, AAT Qualified Accountant or Practice Accountant or someone QBE who is looking to develop or stabilise their career within a supportive accountancy firm and gain further exposure across a varied portfolio of clients.

You will work closely with experienced accountants and have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge across accounts preparation, corporation tax, personal tax and general practice accounting.

The Accountancy Job Role

As An Accounts Semi-Senior, Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Supporting and preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Supporting and preparing accounts in accordance with relevant UK accounting standards, including FRS 102 and FRS 105
• Preparing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns
• Assisting with personal tax returns where required
• Preparing working papers and maintaining accurate client records
• Completing bookkeeping and VAT work where required
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries
• Supporting senior members of the team with larger assignments and ad-hoc projects
• Developing strong relationships with a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
• Using accounting software and Microsoft Excel to complete client work efficiently and accurately

About You As a Trainee Accountant / Semi Senior / QBE

We are looking for an Accounts Semi-Senior with previous experience working within an accountancy practice.

You May Be

• AAT qualified or part-qualified
• ACA or ACCA part-qualified
• Qualified by experience
• An experienced Accounts Assistant looking for the next step into a Semi-Senior role - training will be given - a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping essential
• An Accounts Semi-Senior already working within an independent or larger practice
• Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working with clients, takes pride in producing accurate work and is keen to continue developing your career within practice.
