Job summary

AP Education in Suffolk seeks SEMH Tutors for 1:1 support across Early Years to KS4 in Eye. You will deliver Maths, English, and Science or SEMH-specific sessions, with flexible term-time hours and competitive hourly pay.

We value compassionate, reliable tutors who can collaborate with specialists, complete baseline assessments, and report progress regularly. DBS Enhanced Disclosure is required; QTS or HLTA preferred, though UK experience without qualifications is welcome.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH requirements.
• Background in education, youth work, or therapeutic settings.
• QTS or HLTA certification preferred; however, applicants with a minimum of two years' relevant UK experience without qualifications are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face 1:1 support across Early Years to KS4.
• Implement behaviour management using positive strategies and patience.
• Provide a therapeutic, adaptable approach to education tailored to each learner's needs.
• Perform baseline academic and emotional assessments to inform targeted support.
• Prepare detailed daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with external professionals.
• Manage daily attendance reporting via attendance software.
• Assist learners in transitioning to mainstream or specialist education settings as appropriate.
