Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is seeking an SEMH Tutor in Wigan to provide 1:1 Maths and English sessions for students with SEMH needs and school refusal. The role is long-term to ensure consistency and progress.

The position offers flexible daily hours (1–5 hours) during or after school, with a competitive hourly rate of £30 and PAYE payments. December 2026 start and ongoing opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification required.
• Experience of working with students with EHCPs.
• Ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions.
• Passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths and English to students unable to attend education in 1:1 sessions.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to SEMH students.

SEMH Tutor (Full Time or Part Time - Temporary opportunities)

Wigan

£30 per hour (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

December 2026 start

The Role

Vision for Education are looking for an SEMH Tutor who can teach Maths & English to students unable to attend education in Wigan. The desired SEMH Tutor will be working 1:1 with students with social emotional and mental health needs and emotional based school refusal. The Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for students and work towards breaking down barriers to learning. Sessions can be one - five hours per day (during or after school hours) depending on the student's needs.

Requirements

The desired SEMH Tutor will have:

• A teaching qualification
• Experience of working with students with EHCPs
• An ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions
• A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people
