Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Teaching Assistant in a Bedfordshire primary alternative provision (SEMH TA) to start immediately. The role involves supporting a whole class and providing 1:1 support for SEMH pupils, in small groups of 2-4, in a KS2 setting with a capped class size.

The position offers a long-term placement until July with weekday hours 8:30am-3:30pm, and a daily rate of £90-£115 depending on experience. A child-only DBS is required on the Update Service.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with SEN or SEMH students.
• Experience working in a primary/secondary/SEN school in the UK is essential.
• SEN experience is essential.
• Ability to support secondary aged students both academically and emotionally.
• Ability to work with students with different needs and adapt to their learning.
• Obtain a child-only DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Support the whole class as well as to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups of 2-4.
• Assist pupils with varying needs and adapt teaching strategies to suit individuals.
