Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH and AP setting in the UK from January on a full-time, long-term basis. You will support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management to help them access learning.

The successful candidate will build trusting relationships, remain resilient under pressure and work closely with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
• Experience using positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
• Confidence managing challenging situations and promoting a positive learning environment
• A resilient, patient and consistent approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people

Responsibilities
