Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Sunderland is seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a specialist setting.

You will provide day-to-day 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils regulate their emotions and behaviour, and work closely with teachers and the pastoral team to help learners feel safe and ready to engage with learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people
• Experience within SEMH, behaviour, PRU or specialist education
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Calm, patient and consistent
• Resilient in challenging situations
• Genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs
