Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Heaton. You'll work closely with pupils who experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them develop coping strategies, build resilience and achieve meaningful progress.

This role supports consistent, patient and positive role modelling and requires resilience, empathy and a calm, professional communication style as you work with pupils and staff to foster progress.

Qualifications

• SEMH Teaching Assistant background or interest in SEMH.
• Calm, professional and confident communicator.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils throughout the school day.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Promote emotional regulation strategies and positive behaviour choices.
• Assist with classroom learning and interventions.
• Support teachers and pastoral teams to enable progress.
