Job summary

Aspire People in King's Lynn are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs on a daily supply basis and longer-term placements.

You will work alongside the class teacher, implement behaviour strategies, support learning, monitor progress, and help students develop resilience and confidence in a safe, supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or similar needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with staff and students.
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and restorative practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support for SEMH students.
• Support behavior management and help students regulate emotions.
• Assist with classroom management and lesson delivery.
• Offer emotional and pastoral support to build resilience.
• Liaise with teachers and SENCOs to plan for individual needs.
• Monitor progress and report outcomes to staff.
