Job summary

Randstad Education in Croydon is looking for an experienced teaching assistant with SEMH/SEND experience to join a specialist school on a supply basis. Salary £88-£93 per day, working hours 8:30-4:30, Monday to Friday.

You will work alongside teachers to provide targeted 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils overcome emotional barriers and re-engage with learning in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic and behavioural support to individual pupils or small groups.
• Assist class teachers with classroom management, lesson preparation, and learning activities.
• Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils with emotional self-control and conflict resolution using positive behaviour strategies.
• Monitor student progress and report achievements or challenges to teaching staff.
• Escort and support pupils during lunch breaks, physical activities, and school trips where required.
