Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Behaviour Support Worker / SEMH Teaching Assistant for a primary setting in the Wythenshawe area, Manchester. Starting ASAP, this long-term/ temp-to-perm role offers GBP 500–600 per week, depending on experience, and a chance to support pupils with SEMH needs in an alternative provision.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, SEN, or in a PRU/youth setting is advantageous.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
• Flexibility and strong communication skills with commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on 1:1 and small group basis to engage in learning and regulate emotions.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
• Build strong, professional relationships with pupils and collaborate with staff and external agencies to support development.
