Job summary

Integra Education (North) LTD is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and SEND in Warrington. The role is full-time and temporary with a daily rate of £110 (UMB), starting in September and term-time only.

You will assist teaching staff, mentor pupils, monitor progress and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment, with DBS clearance required or on application.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or SEND.
  • Experience with behaviour management and strategies.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
  • Level 2+ TA qualification preferred but not essential.
  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths; good IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support one pupil or small groups.
  • Support the class teacher during lessons.
  • Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and school trips.
  • Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation; set work and mark.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Warrington

Full-time | Temporary | £110 per day (UMB)

Integra Education (North) LTD are currently recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team in Warrington. This role involves supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, complex behaviours and special educational needs (SEND).

Role Responsibilities
  • Dedicated to mentoring and supporting one pupil or else a small groups
  • Supporting the classroom teacher during lessons
  • Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns and liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met
  • Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school tripsAssisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation
  • Setting work where appropriate and marking
  • Building positive relationships with your pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes
Requirements
  • Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics and sound IT skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Teaching Assistant
  • Previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH or SEND within an educational setting
  • Be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school, e.g Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes etc.
  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques
  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn
  • Enhanced DBS or willing to apply
  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification is desired but not essential.
